Training Course for the Warsaw University
The VR-1 reactor for the first time held a course for students of the Warsaw University. The students tried many practical measurements focused on neutron detection and reactor physics and at the end of the course students tried reactor controlling under the supervision of the teachers.
Training Course for the University of Tennessee
Students of the University of Tennessee underwent a two-week course at the VR-1 reactor. First week of the course consisted of many excursions and visits. The students visited Temelin Nuclear Power Plant, mining and uranium chemical treatment plant DIAMO Dolni Rozinka, Nuclear Research Centre Rez, Prague Castle and the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. Second week of the course took place at the VR-1 reactor. The students underwent many practical exrecises focused on neutron detection and reactor physics.
Training Course for the Aalto University
Students from the University of Aalto in Finland arrived this week for the first time for a weekly course on the VR-1 reactor. The course was organized within collaboration with this university, as part of this collaboration, Aalto University donated fuel for the planned subcritical assembly VR-2.
The Fire Brigade Training
From 19. to 20. March 2019 the Fire Brigade training was held on the VR-1 reactor. The training was focused on decontamination and manipulation with dosimetric devices.
